Normal foot and pet traffic on sealed hard and stone floors tracked in dust and dirt which has nowhere to go. Despite regular sweeping and vacuuming, over time grime becomes compacted and ground in creating a hard surface layer that cannot be removed by water alone. This gradually hides the original beauty of the floor.
Grime on the surface of a tile can cause scratches
Spills of foods or liquid with an acidic element causing etching discolouration to the surface of part or several tiles
Grout fills the gap between tiles. This acts as a magnet to grime, causing permanent staining. Which requires specialist cleaning, removal of staining and reseal then polish.
Water and moisture damage can happen due to breaks in the grout, or in the seal across the tile and grouting itself
Softer stone or tiles becoming damaged, losing seal and their polish. Making the floor look dull and lifeless hiding it's colour and patterning.
Stains on the surface of floor tiles. Caused by a number of possibilities - spills, damage, incorrect cleaning, incorrect cleaning products. Incorrectly sealed or layed sealant and wax.
In the case of chipped, cracked or seriously damaged tiles we we would need to make a thorough assessment of the damage before we decide on a treatment. It may be the case that a tile needs to be entirely replaced, or grouting repaired, in which case we can help.
